American Negro Heritage Foundation

Restoring History. Preserving Identity. Strengthening Community.

The American Negro Heritage Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, documenting, and restoring the historical, cultural, and community legacy of the American Negro people in the United States. Our work is educational, restorative, and community-centered. We focus on history, heritage, family continuity, and local community strength — not politics, not division, and not exclusion.

Our Mission

Our mission is to preserve and protect the historical identity, cultural contributions, and lived experiences of American Negro descendants through education, documentation, land stewardship, and community-based programs.

We work to ensure that history is accurately recorded, families are empowered with knowledge of their heritage, and communities have access to spaces and resources that support dignity, learning, and opportunity.

01

Heritage Preservation & Education

We research, document, and share the historical experiences of American Negro communities through:

  • Educational materials
  • Community presentations
  • Oral history preservation
  • Public awareness initiatives

Our goal is to ensure that history is not lost, erased, or misrepresented.

02

Oral History & Memory Documentation

We help individuals and families record their stories, memories, and lived experiences for future generations.

This includes:

Cultural memory projects

Family history interviews

Elder testimony preservation

Community story archives

03

Community Land & Space Stewardship

We support the responsible use of land and community spaces for:

  • Educational gatherings
  • Cultural events
  • Community programs
  • Small local entrepreneurship opportunities

Land is treated as a community resource, not a speculative asset.

04

Community Programs & Partnerships

We work alongside:

  • Churches and faith organizations
  • Community groups
  • Local nonprofits
  • Educators and cultural leaders

Together, we create programs that support:

Cultural continuity

Youth education

Elder engagement

Community pride

05

What We Are Not

To be clear, the American Negro Heritage Foundation is:

  • Not a political organization
  • Not a separatist movement
  • Not anti-American
  • Not opposed to any other ethnic or cultural group

We believe preservation, education, and dignity strengthen the entire nation.

06

Why This Work Matters

For generations, the American Negro experience has often been:

  • Poorly documented
  • Mischaracterized
  • Excluded from formal records
  • Reduced to fragments of history

By preserving accurate history and strengthening community knowledge, we help ensure future generations understand who they are, where they come from, and how their contributions shaped this country.

Join and Support non-profit organizations making an impact

Support meaningful community initiatives and social causes. Engage in life-changing projects led by passionate volunteers.

These funds will directly support educational programs, historical research, community outreach, land purchases and the development of heritage-based initiatives that reconnect people to their history and empower future generations. Land is an economic base and for the American Negro. That economic base was stripped from most American Negros. Our goal is to provide that base so the communities can build meaningful progress.
